There's nothing like a good dip and cracker set laid out for when your friends come over. I can devour a good dip in minutes, but I love to make them myself for friends to enjoy - and where there are dips, there must be crackers. These quintessentially British Thomas J. Fudge's* biscuits are ideal for dipping, and their quirky little serving trays with witty quips on the sides make great talking points.
I'm a huge fan of their Flaky Cheese Straws - they're incredibly moorish with a little bit of a kick from the mature cheddar, and pair perfectly with a creamy dip, as do their Scrumptious Spelt & Seeded Biscuits, which are a little more laid back in flavour and go with just about anything!
If you're slightly more adventurous with your biscuits (how adventurous can you go? I'd like to see a debate on this...), Thomas J Fudge's also has Punchy Jalapeno Wafers, which I'm absolutely dying to try with a cheesy dip and some Mexican hors d'oeuvres!
I decided to throw together a batch of incredibly easy-to-make creamy avocado dip. All you need is a food processor, one large avocado, a tablespoon of cream cheese, a few stalks of celery and the juice of half a lime. Chuck it all in a food processor and blend until creamy - et voila!
Serve on the customary 'food blogger wood slab', or if you're extra bloggery, serve on a large piece of slate..
..I'm happy with my little wooden chopping board.
