It's so sad that, after reaching the wonderful age of adulthood, all the exciting privileges that come with independence are overburdened and restricted by the opinions and expectations of others.
I've noticed that, as I've grown up, unwelcome 'advice' has been thrust upon me from those who feel that they have more important opinions than my own; I cherish those who offer valuable guidance based on their own experience, but I cannot, and will not, appreciate those who expect me to take their advice as gospel and disregard my own status on matters. We should not be expected to become someone we are not.
One issue that has plagued me in recent years is that of dreams. If you have a dream - a goal in life, a belief, a hope for your future - do not let anyone tell you that it cannot become a reality, because once you do, you're undermining your own abilities. The world is an infinity: full of opportunities, full of people to meet and places to see - whose position is it to say that your dreams cannot become reality?
Be unexpected, be yourself and, as long as you're not hurting others, lead the future that you want to lead.
