Monki Wishlist

I'm pretty in love with this brand at the moment. I'm one of those girls who wishes she could pull of minimalist Scandi style, but doesn't quite hit the mark.

To be honest, the only way for me to pull this style off would be to clear out my whole wardrobe and refill it with clothing comprised of clean lines, block colours and structured tailoring, because nothing I currently own would work with it.

So, if this were ever to happen, here are a few of my favourite Monki items that I'd definitely get my hands on:

1. Florence Dress £30
2. Hama Skirt £25
3. Miracle Purse £8
4. Mimmi Lace Top £12
5. Sage Blouse £20
6. Bo Knitted Top £20
7. Lucy Lace Bra £10
8. Lana Blazer £50
9. Dotte Velvet Skirt £8
10. Ronda Bra Aurora £12
11. Tamara Knitted Top Foil £35
12. Miracle Purse £8

Autumn Makeup Tutorial Part 2

Continuing on from my previous tutorial, I've created a more toned-down, autumn-inspired look using brown tones instead of purple. This is a more casual look, as apposed to the previous vamped-up look. Hope you enjoy!

This is an easy Autumn-inspired makeup tutorial using MAC, Kiko Cosmetics and Topshop makeup. I've used dark, purple tones to create this look - I'm doing a more toned down version coming up in another video, so stay tuned!

OOTD - Colette

Being 5ft 4" is probably the thing I wish I could change most about my appearance. I'm not trying to be 'heightist', it's just that I get that sinking feeling every time I see Gisele Bundchen looking luxuriously long in a Salvatore Ferragamo ad, or the gorgeous Blake Lively in a side-split gown flashing a leg that, no doubt, goes all the way up to her armpit.

I'm desperately trying to find clothes that will add an extra inch (or five) to my petite frame, but it's hard work for someone who adores ankle boots and cut off jeans.

So I've gone in a different direction: the midi skirt.

"What?" you say, "surely this shortens you to at least dwarf level?" Well, yes, but with a pair of my Topshop strapless courts, it looks rather appealing. Plus, this navy skirt (also from Topshop) is high-waisted, so it gives the impression of a longer bottom half.
I've paired it with a duped Kenzo jumper and black bowler hat (both from eBay). Tell me what you think - does it work, or am I just kidding myself?

Christmas So Far...

December is my busiest month of the year - not only do I get handed numerous university assignments like it's some sort of very unfunny joke, it's also tremendously hectic where I work. I'm not complaining (I love being busy), but it does make me upset when I have to sacrifice my blogging time.

To keep you up to date, I've compiled a few photos from this December so far, giving you an idea of what Christmas is like for me during the rare quiet days! Let me know what you like doing to keep yourself from going insane during the festive period - or if you're the complete opposite and like to keep your Christmas as chilled as a snowy evening..

I highly recommend afternoon tea at The Park Lane Hotel. Its service is exceptional and the food is so delicious! The atmosphere of the Art Deco style Palm Court is relaxing, yet so glamorous at the same time. We received bottomless pots of tea, with various festive bites and a selection of pastries and scones, for £33 each.

OOTD - Emilia

Leather Jacket - Glamorous
T-shirt - AX Paris
Necklace - River Island
Trousers - River Island (Similar here)
Shoes - Topshop

Last month, in a conversation with my sister, I stated that I really dislike tartan and that I'd never get into the trend. In that moment, I set myself up for failure as, since that conversation, I've acquired precisely five tartan items of clothing (which I love, and am constantly wearing): some socks, a scarf, a dress, a playsuit and these trousers. I've even decorated my Christmas tree with tartan baubles, bought some tartan ribbon to wrap my presents with and, just today, I bought some delightful tartan material to create bunting. I wore tartan to my family photoshoot, have a tartan blanket on my bed, and my littlest dog wears an adorable tartan coat.

I do say stupid things sometimes, which I regret. I haven't lived it down yet either; my sister keeps reminding me every time she sees me wearing tartan.

So, overall, I'm into tartan in a big way. And, in fact, I'll be quite sad when SS14 comes along and classes it 'out of fashion'. Then I suppose I'll find another trend to reject, and later don with pride.

Please please pleasseeee vote for me for best 'under the radar blog' on if you like reading my blog - and leave a comment below if you do vote so I can thank you! It's free and there's no sign up necessary!

Kiko Cosmetics Haul

Kiko Cosmetics

Ever since I bought a rather questionable lipstick from the Naturals Collection at Boots, I've been skeptical of cheap makeup. I'm a firm believer in the phrase, 'you get what you pay for'; however, once in a while an exception pops up - and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's delighted when this occurs.

Just over fifteen years old, Kiko was founded as an Italian-based cosmetics company set on producing high quality makeup at an affordable price to its consumers. Its motto, 'be what you want to be', sums up the brand's enormous range of colours and products on offer.

I had been reading about the brand's store opening in Westfield, Stratford, recently - and on a little shopping trip at the centre, I stumbled upon the store and decided to give it a go.

I was astounded by the range of what they had to offer: from lipsticks to nail polishes, makeup accessories to hair products. So I bought several items (at a ridiculously low price), with which I've compiled a little haul video for you to see!
