Product Review: Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush

Jelly Pong Pong, famed for their creation of innovative, quirky products and their refreshing, youthful approach to the business of beauty, have introduced another fantastic product: 'Lip Blush'. This moisturising lip stain tints your lips with rich colour and moisturises at the same time, rather than drying out like other lip products.
Lip Blush comes in a limited colour range of only two shades: Marshmallow Pink (a soft petal colour) and Cranberry Red (a very berry red colour). I would have liked to have seen more choice from the brand, however these two colours are quite versatile when combined with other lippies.
The packaging is fun a and user-friendly to a degree, with a pen shaped tube and a winder at the bottom. However, upon first use the lipstick became dislodged somehow and fell out from the tube, staining my table cloth. I managed to get it back in the tube, but I would rather that had not happened.
My favourite element of this product is that it is made with beeswax. I have always sworn by beeswax as a way to combat dry lips in the winter - I use a beeswax lip balm which keeps my lips hydrated. I cannot stress enough how cheap lip balms will do the opposite of what they say on the packaging and dry your lips out!

Here are two looks I created using Jelly Pong Pong's Lip Blush:

This is a soft lip look, as I cannot normally wear harsh red lipstick without looking like I'm in drag.

First I applied a beeswax lip balm (my favourite is Burt's Bees), then I used L'Oreal's Colour Riche Star Secrets in 'Beige Rose Jane' on my top lip, before applying a very light shading of Jelly Pong Pong on my bottom. Rub lips together.

This is a slightly darker look that is still light enough be worn casually.

With a coat of Nude lipstick already applied, I lined the edges of my lips with Elizabeth Arden's Lip Crayon in 'Crimson'. I then filled in the rest of the area with a deeper layer of Jelly Pong Pong. Voila!

  1. Nice! I've always been a bit scared of lip stains etc as they are really horrible and harsh, but these lip blushes look great. Great post! x
