One of the most renowned and recognised fashion illustrators of the 21st Century, Francois Berthoud has created designs for magazines Vogue, Numero, Vanity Fair and Interview, among many others.
Born in Switzerland, Berthoud studied at The School for graphic Design in Lausanne. He then moved to Milan, Italy, where he worked for most of his career, before returning to Switzerland in 2007 to set up a studio in Zurich.
His work is bold and usually high in contrast, placing emphasis on the subject. Though his main focus is fashion, he often includes aspects of erotica in the form of nude figures, underwear or provocative poses.
I like Berthoud's work, but I'm not a fan of the 'paper-cut-out', Picasso type pieces that he's associated with - I prefer the pieces with more depth. However, below is a selection of various works by the illustrator:
